January Flannel's friend Sasha Folio (Echo to her friends) owns a catering business, a young couple who signed her on to create an intimate evening to mark his (Race) proposal to the lady (Destiny) ended in disaster when the young couple is found dead the next day. Obviously, poisoned -- was it food poisoning or something else. Echo becomes prime suspect and our accidental sleuth January (a mystery writer) takes it upon herself to discover what happened and clear her friend-- if she can.

January Flannel (Protagonist) owns and operates The Capricorn Goat a gift shop. She also writes mysteries under two pseudonymns Amber G Store and Dixie Daytona.
